This series is not really my cuppa to be honest but I can understand why people would watch it and it is probably isn't for the reasons that the contestants would like the audience to be watching it for.
The show is a competition / reality show about a group of really good looking (I guess, I don't think all of them look great) people who at the beginning brag about how easy it is for them to get laid and how much they feel as though they can have anyone that they want. At first it is an exercise in loathing these people but well, for the most part they are pretty good-looking and it is easy to understand how they would be able to pull that off.
It is a bit cringe to see these people who have never met and walk onto the set where they are bro-hugging strangers and start to flit with one another immediately. Some of them are actually heading back to the rooms of the other cast members even though they are very aware that the cameras are following them.
I am sure the producers encourage this sort of behavior and suffice to say each and every one of these people probably thinks that Instagram is probably the most important thing in the world (look at me being all judgmental)
The way that contest works is that these hot people, who believe they can "pull" anyone they want are competing for a $100,000 prize, but the catch is they are not allowed to be involved with any other cast member in a sexual sort of way, not even kissing, at all during the course of the 8 episodes.
The people here are meant to be getting taught a lesson about genuine human connection instead of physical lust.
The thing about this show is that the people are in fact-annoying but that is actually the reason why you can't stop watching it. These really good looking people probably don't have much of an idea about actual life struggles and the way in which they appear as though they are going to break out crying (and some of them do) because they aren't allowed to "get busy" is the reason why this show is fun and probably why it was number one on Nexflix last week.
I was probably watching it for the wrong reasons and seriously wanted to slap all but one of the contestants in the entire show at one point or another, but even though it really should be a terrible show, I couldn't stop watching.
Should I watch it?
I would say yes, I think that Too Hot to Handle will appeal to different people for different reasons and the premise of the show is misguided but is in fact entertaining.
