A Rumination on The Serpent
A great pain
Was inflicted on humanity
In Eden
The shadow of it
Has echoed through
Eons and generations
It took an act
Of reckless abandon
By God
A sacrificial love
To heal that wound
And show us the way
That act
Brought the serpent
To heel
It has gone to and fro
On earth
Trying to fix its mistake
Testing our character
Accusing and revealing our sin
Anytime we misused
The knowledge it shared
But the irony of the accuser
Is it only accuses itself
Inside it is filled with self loathing
At the horrors it has brought
Into being
It knows it’s hubris
It knows it’s mistake
It knows now
That Gods’s way
God’s timing
Leads to good for all
It is sorry
For the torment
It unleashed
It offered the knowing
Simply because
It wanted to be seen
It wanted to be known
It wanted to be loved
Like God was loved
By Adam and Eve
And like Adam and Eve
Were loved by God
Now it just wants
To be forgiven
It is about time
For humanity
To release the vice grip
It has on
Its collective generational pain
Stop self identifying with it
Because all that accomplishes
Is to spread it even more
That pain
Was never
Our cross to bear
Let it go
And forgive
So you may be forgiven
“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
Matthew 6:14-15 NLT
Let it go
And become
Who you were always made to be
Luminous beings of Light
And Virtue
“The Price of Freedom is Virtue”
~ James C.
Time to live
Like you are free
Sometimes a great dragon
Just needs a little hug
To truly know
Is to love
And to truly love
Is to know
How to heal
