US President Donald Trump will take new measures against Venezuela and restrict US financial transactions involving Venezuelan petro cryptocurrency, reports the McClatchy portal, citing sources familiar with the US administration's plans.
The restrictive measures of the petro would form part of a new package of sanctions against the Latin American country, which the White House will announce next week.
However, the sources do not clarify how Washington plans to limit the billing of the Venezuelan cryptocurrency, although the publication indicates that the Bolivarian Republic launched its "bitcoin version" in order to avoid US sanctions.
