Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through regular upvotes to member content.

Owner, Founder and Visionary

The founder of Steem Basic Income is @josephsavage. He saw that Steem has a magnetic pulse, an undercurrent of human energy where support attracts more support, where upvotes attract more upvotes, where people are ready and willing to support each other, given the opportunity.
Steem Basic Income was created to fill this need. To be the 'basic income' of Steem... the core support that allows members to focus on quality without having to worry about whether upvotes will come in... to create their best work knowing that there will be an SBI upvote to start the snowball, to raise the post status above 0 and begin attracting more Steemians to see what the buzz is and reward their work with even more well-deserved votes.

Talented Developers

The lead developer for Steem Basic Income is @holger80. He is an extremely talented python developer who maintain the beem python repository, along with a handful of other projects. Without his brilliant development skills we could easily have collapsed before implementing all the core features that ensure the lifetime sustainability of the project. Now he continues to resolve bugs quickly, as well as develop new features that help SBI continue toward our social impact objectives.
We also have development support from @rishi556. He is the brilliant nodeJS developer that built the status response bot we use in our Discord Server. New features continue to be released for that bot,including the ability to create new delegation links on request.

Discord Admins

Our Discord was originally built by @kiwijuce3, who is no longer active on Steem or in our Discord. The current admin team is @josephsavage, @rishi556, and @tcpolymath. @tcpolymath is an amazing Steemian. In addition to providing invaluable Discord support, he has helped @josephsavage with a lot of behind-the-scenes support, especially before our automation was released.

We also have language rooms in our Discord, with several active Language Mods. I don't want to list all these, at risk of overlooking somebody whose help we really appreciate!

Writers Group

We introduced the writers group a couple of weeks ago in this post: https://steemit.com/writers/@steembasicincome/sbi-writers-group

@ntowl and @ecoinstant are a huge support and have made it much easier for us to meet our daily updates goal. Publishing daily is critical to building our sustainable SP base long-term, and we would not be able to do this without their ongoing assistance. We know this because we never published daily for more than a week or two at a time until @ntowl joined the Writers Group and started maintaining the regular Delegation Reports and the Contest Lists.

Previous Support

There are a few more developers and writers that have supported us over the last 16 months. While we appreciate their help, they are not part of the SBI management team now, and have no ownership over the project, past or present.

We Need Your Help!!

The Writers Group is looking for additional help. You do not already have to be a member of Steem Basic Income to take up this opportunity, but a working knowledge will help.

If you have ideas for new updates we could do, or if you would like to contribute additional interviews, member spotlights, or infographics to enrich our existing update series, please let us know in the comments or message @josephsavage in our discord server.

Participating writers receive rewards of SBI bonus units, along with a writing credit on articles and updates published on the @steembasicincome account, to 5k+ followers. We also offer regular bonuses in STEEM/SBD for quality work.

Sustainability Coverage and VP Management

Sustainability Coverage is currently at 87.55% and rshares reward rate is 700,407,970 per SBI unit per day.

The rshares reward rate for bonus units (delegation reward) is not decreased, and you can help increase the sustainability coverage (and thus the rshares reward rate on regular units) by delegating to @steembasicincome.

Upvoting Reward multipliers are currently at 1.10x until our voting power (VP) recovers to 80%.
