Hope your old man still has this board, gotta love 70's pin tail single fins. Being at Bells its probably a Klemm Bell or a Wayne Lynch/Don Allcroft Rip Curl?

You know what... didnt even think to ask! My uncle used to make his boards but Im not sure he was then. There are other old photos when you could see the shape and logo better. I remember when they first started Dad used a dog collar and rope for a leggy!

And no way does he have that board.. he has never hoarded and probably has owned hundreds since lol.

Growing up I was the same, sold my board to pay my next better board, wish I still had my first board though, I'm still searching for it.

Funny I still have mine. My uncle shaped it. Its in the garage with its deck caved in and covered in dirty wax. Boards do have funny ways of getting back to you so here is hoping. I hear stories all the time!!!

I still wish I had my first car... a 1971 Valiant!!!

@derryn so I quizzed Dad. His first board was a 9 foot balsa board that they found in a disposals in Sunshine when he was about 16. As his brother started driving, they'd go down the coast from Melbourne all the time and camp in the tea trees at Point Roadnight and drink apple cider. Then he bought a Fred Pike but when he went to pick it up there was virtually no V in it so he didn't take it. Then he bought a Wayne Lynch board. After that his brother started shaping so he rode those instead. There you go. Family history.
