@derryn so I quizzed Dad. His first board was a 9 foot balsa board that they found in a disposals in Sunshine when he was about 16. As his brother started driving, they'd go down the coast from Melbourne all the time and camp in the tea trees at Point Roadnight and drink apple cider. Then he bought a Fred Pike but when he went to pick it up there was virtually no V in it so he didn't take it. Then he bought a Wayne Lynch board. After that his brother started shaping so he rode those instead. There you go. Family history.
