The success of local initiatives, or the initiative of only one person should never be underestimated, or how I see it, it should always be greeted and celebrated. These photos of sculptures, I share today with you, are taken on the mountain Debelo Brdo. They are in the middle of nowhere, if I can say so.
So, what is the story behind them?
Well. there is this mane who came from Grate Britain, a geologist, who came here once, during his travellings. And he met a peasant woman and they fell in love. So he took her away to London, and as he was a geologist working a lot with Inuits, he started buying their art and artefacts that he could, for he was also in love with their way of thinking about shapes and their folklore, but also, he wanted to preserve those artefacts. And they actually made a fascinating collection of Inuit art!
And then, as they grew older, they realised they don't want to come to Debelo Brdo mountain every once in a while, but rather to come and live here. And so they did. And what they did, also, is that they mad these awasome colonies of artist inspired by nature, so sculptures stayed here, on the meadows and forests, waiting to be discovered by some lost hikers :)

A muffler and a gas tank? That's kind of brilliant. Energy in and out.

Oh, I love these flamingos. They are so beautiful and gracious, despite the material used to make them. it is kinda en ecological work, I was thinking. What do you think?
And the wolf is so bad and und ugly ahhh, seems like the artist didn't love them too much. :)

The wolf looks sadly neglected - but there's some pathos there. I think it'll look like a completely different piece of art when all the fabric and fibres have rotted away.
And yes - I'm all for recycling machines into artwork. It might be a small thing, but anything that brings joy to people instead of going into the waste stream is a win in my book.
