Introducing Myself!

Hi Steemit, My name is Joanna Ceceta (Che-che-ta), and I am here to promote sexual morality! I was born in 1949 in a small New Jersey town. Growing up in the 1950's, we were taught to be proper little ladies and gentlemen, and sex was something very private that only adults did.

Then the 1960's hit, and in came rock n roll, hippies, pot smoking, free love, and the 1st Sexual Revolution. I got caught up in it all and eagerly embraced the "Love The One You're With" philosophy. But because of my strict upbringing, I still went to college, earned a Bachelor's Degree in English. Shortly after college tho, I made my way out to San Francisco to join the Flower Children.

Both my parents had died young, and I was left on my own to navigate the world with very few guideposts. I also got into left-wing politics, believed "big brother" was watching and hated the establishment. My friends and I were rebels and comrads, and we bonded through our mutual liberal ideas.

But I also suffered many heartbreaks and went through some devastating experiences because of my "free-love" way of life when it came to sex. I finally fell in love with a good man, settled down and gave birth to my first child in 1972.

I remained very liberal in my thinking all through the 1980's and '90s, joined the Democratic Party and voted with their platform all the way through 2015.

I made my living all through the years by becoming a legal secretary, and I worked for an environmental lawfirm in San Francisco for almost 10 years. I was a single parent with my first child until she was 10, when I met and married my 2nd husband.

From 1989 thru 1996, my husband and I adopted 5 children through public adoption. Our children were all full siblings, and all were under 3 years of age when we adopted them. In 1998, I changed careers and began working in the human services field. It was during this time that my philosophy on life began to be challenged.

It was difficult for me to justify a liberal lifestyle of "almost anything goes" with regard to sexuality when I saw the devastating effects on children, including my own. I began teaching my children that sex was for adults who were in a committed relationship.

I realized from first-hand experience that every child deserved to be raised in a two-parent household. I began to see that deliberately planning to raise a child without a father was not fair to the child. Although I still held lefty political beliefs, I was quickly becoming a social conservative.

In 2013 I published a book called "True Love Waits" in which I tried to explain my evolution from a "hippie peace freak" to a conservative, although not for religious reasons. In 2016, I updated and expanded my book, and it is now called "The 2nd Sexual Revolution" and is available in Kindle form at Amazon.

I would love to engage in conversations about sexual morality and how we can elevate the sexual union to the spiritual experience it was always meant to be. I believe it takes a postponement of physical intimacy while we are establishing platonic intimacy. Marriages are more successful when couples take the time to get to know each other prior to engaging in sex.
