Real radio, and Bitcoin, lives! - Despite what you may be hearing

Howdy, folks! You may be getting ready to travel for NYE or sitting around the house. Are you listening to the radio? Maybe a podcast of something? Odds are, around half of you have music playing near you right now. People have been harping about the death of "real radio" for much longer than the death of Bitcoin. I'm about to argue that BOTH are wrong (and use some colorful language that is very out of character for me, but honest).

For 17 years I have volunteered with The Alternative Radio Coalition at WNCW 88.7 FM in Spindale, NC and I mean to tell you, we are very much alive. Both the program and the station. Despite numerous attempts by others to spread FUD to the contrary. The station gives a solid, round-the-clock, mix of Alternative rock, folk, bluegrass, jam, jazz, soul, blues and classic R&B (shit you not). A.R.C. Overnight is more tightly focused on the Alternative end of the spectrum, but I make a point of including all manner of Rock, Reggae, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Funk, Dance, and Trance in to the vibes when I get in the studio.

For almost 8 years Bitcoin has been chugging along giving no fucks on what other people think (I dig that). People have chided and poked fun at early adopters and ridiculed them for not keeping up or being so far out of step that they will NEVER succeed. As I type this BTC is up 1420.85% on the year and up $544 USD on the DAY. Fuck what you heard. There is more interest in Bitcoin today than ever before. Even the BANKS we so desperately want to tell where to go are coming in like "Hey guys, I got my deck shoes and a 6er of Michelob. Let's Moon-Party!" Whatever, pop radio is kinda lame but there's a reason it's "Pop", right?

Long ago I dubbed the show "The Big Ole Boat That IS" because over the radio you can't hear the difference between "arc" and "ark" and I'm a sucker for a pun. Every damn time I get on the decks I am there to spread love, make you enjoy yourself, and maybe spend a couple hours doing some VERY sexual things to your lover. Best request ever was "Keep doin' whacher doin'. We are nekkid an lovin' every minute of it. Don't Stop!!"

Bitcoin is having a similar reaction. People are LIT on greedy dreams and a lust for wealth that can never be truly satisfied. Some folks are WOKE on what we can do with these achievements and are already looking in to the next garage band that's gonna show us a whole new way to dance. It's sexy and pop. It's flash and smash. It's become what many dreaded, for better or worse, but it is doin' it in long strokes, hair pulls, and an occasional slap on the ass.

The point of this was really to have you check out my show. It's a show about love and making it. It's a show about life and shaking it. It's a show about hope, not faking it. We dance, we sing, we do the damn thing.
