What some people don't get about sexuality

My sexuality is pretty damn personal, isn't it? Yours is too, right? I mean, I wouldn't want you to judge me on my sexual preference no more than you would if I did the same to you.

It sometimes shocks me that even now, 2016 years since we started to record years, some places of the world classify anything that slightly strays from the cultural normal sexual preference 'abnormal'.

And we all know what the normal is.

Heterosexual. Or straight, as most people like to call it. I know this because I've never seen a "straight pride march" or a "hetero week" and if you're now starting to think, 

"hey! That's right, why don't we"

Well, it's basically the same as giving toad a lightning bolt or a red shell when you're in first place on Mario Kart. Why would he need it if he's in first place?

Why would you give privileged people more privilege?

Let's talk about that for a second. If you're straight there's no ifs, or buts about it. Your up there with the privileged kids.

Have you ever had someone walk up to you and told you to stop holding hands, kissing or fondling your partner because it disgusts them? It's never happened to me, never. Back in my younger years I was kissing a young lady in my crowd of friends which was met with chants of,

"on ye go, son!" 

"Get inn there!"

Imagine the difference if that were a man I was kissing, and then think back to what I said about privileged sexuality.

And I often see the protests on TV and the banners about homosexuality, or whatever sexuality, how that they are an abomination and should be stopped before they turn our kids gay.

I wonder if anyone stopped to think how they treated gay kids in school, the comments, the bending over and jeering,

"Come on then!"

The laughing, the bullying. To name just but a small few.

Do you think that really, anyone would actually choose to be anything other than straight in today's climate?

Don't get me wrong. To me there's nothing wrong with any sexual denomination, but to actually choose to fight the uphill fight from a very young age?

I'm not too sure.

I think we're born what we are

And I think people should be left to be what they are. (unless it's sexually breaking the law - just to clarify)

It doesn't impact us, so why worry? And if it does impact us then we should worry. But until then, I'm not.

And I always wonder if it's not really about religion, or us, or whatever statistic. I wonder if it's more about population and birth to death ratio.

I read an article once that said to maintain a balanced and increasing economy a country needs [x] births to [x] deaths. And I wonder if it's more-so about that.

The more people we have owning their selves the less control the financial elite have over us.

But that's just a shot in the dark.
