There's a British parallel called Sex education from Netflix. It has same themes. High school kids, nudity and dlugs, though it's more comedic and satire. Tamed, it's like how Americans view British.
The most disturbing, critical and controversial aspect is how high school children are sexualized to adults being the target markets. Drugs, premarital sex are some of the traps most adolescence and young adults go through.
Depending on the area you live Legal sex age range from 16 though it is unethical and sometime illegal for anyone older than 18 to have sex with anyone under 18. The sexualization of high school kids is the media and society dipping its toes to test the waters. Entertainment makes something acceptable in a deciete of "non-threatening" media. Pedophilia is still not accepted nor is it legal although it is feared to be potentially legalized in the near future while rape is still illegal.
