I think it is a lie that womens hairs are that different. I always thought that this is just a marketing trick to get women to buy special expensive shampoos. But I am not a hair scientists and might be wrong.

There's probably a specific reason they would give, but the only thing I can think of would be the time required for a women's cut over a men's? Even so, it shouldn't be that much different.
If they're really worried about it, bill it by the hour and make people with ridiculous service needs pay for what they want.

its not only haircuts, women also pay more for the same types of clothes, and other basic utensils. I guess the plus is for particular fancy requests assuming that men dont have these.
The free markets find this because the value asked is not a representation of the production cost, but somewhere between that and the customers evaluation. On average women are willing to pay more for a haircut and therefore it costs more. There are some barbers where I live that charge the same, or charge based on the type of cut and not gender of the person. Simply boycott the others. Or what could be interesting is to go in and ask for a men cut, then describe whatever you want. I had long hair for several years and always paid the mens price regardless...
Also why is MEN CUT huge and red?
