[SFHL] Financial Report 2016-10-12

in sfhl •  8 years ago

This is a quick update of the financial status of SFHL.

We have raised 162.056 SBD of liquid rewards. This represents both SBD rewards and STEEM rewards which I have used to purchase SBD in order to preserve the value of the prize pool.

In addition to the liquid funds, we have 417.190 SP. My original intent was to begin powering down some time later in the season, in time to have the STEEM in hand by the end of the year. I have made the decision to power down immediately and purchase SBD with the STEEM. This will insulate somewhat from declines in the market value of STEEM.

Our week 1 preview post generated 29.625 SBD, half of which will go to winning managers for week 1. This equates to 2.469 SBD prizes for each player that wins their week 1 match up. The remaining funds will be dispersed to users who correctly guessed the winners.

Good luck.

nice!

It's looking good so far!

Very good, congrats.

When will the fun really start?

The fun is underway! Season started last night. The first "week" is actually a week and a half, so the first round of matches ends on October 23.

Cool update!

Not sure if you said this somewhere, but what do you want to do about ties?

Oh, no! I completely overlooked ties.

My first instinct would be to chop it... send each team manager 1.234 SBD. And probably do the same for the betting side of it. Just call it a push.

I think chopping it for the team managers is probably the way to go in future weeks, as well. I'm just not sure if it would be better to have a draw option for the betting side.

What do you think?

I am drunk...

This is rare for me.....

Ya, I think chopping it is totally good. Could find a tiebreaker if you think that makes it more fun, but chopping seems good to me. It won't be REAL common, but it will happen.

Phillip Rivers upsets Denver Broncos tonight.

I def don't recommend adding a draw option to the voting. Whether chop or a tiebreaker, either makes sense IMO.

I think I like a chop when it makes sense, because it rewards people for participating. If it goes the tiebreaker route, bench player stats can come into play. And if it is a tie even after the bench stats are factored in, then it would definitely be a push...

I'd like to get some feedback, but I'm leaning towards just chopping it.
