Cool 1950s style and consumer products display in San Francisco airport

in sfomuseum •  5 years ago

My flight home from New Jersey yesterday had a layover in San Francisco (SFO), and the flight from there to Eugene, Oregon was delayed so I spent a bit of time walking around the airport. One of the passages to a gate area had a museum-style display of American 1950s style and consumer products that I thought was pretty cool. I snapped some photos since I thought they would be fun to include in my Actifit post, but unfortunately the Actifit app has been crashing on me for the past few days so I couldn't do that yesterday. So I decided to just create a regular post for them, because I enjoyed the display.

How wrong is it that random stuff from the fifties reminds me of Fallout, rather than the opposite? :D

Heh, I had a similar "Oh, these look like they could be from Fallout" reaction rather than "Fallout looks like these" when I was looking at the Atomic Age case. At least that does suggest the art design of Fallout did a good job of capturing this look.
