Ice Cool is a fun dexterity game where players will flick their penguin tokens through the rooms of the game board trying to get a fishy fresh snack while avoiding the hall monitor. One player is the hall monitor, the other players are the runners. The game round plays until the runner has caught all of the runners, or the runners have run through doors with fish above them. The game is a point gathering game with points given to the hall monitor for catching the runners. When a runner goes through a door with fish above them they draw a point card.
I snagged this game for my son and I to enjoy. It has been a very cool welcome to our home. While the game itself doesn’t take up a lot of space, I would caution to have quite a bit of space all around the game. Players positioning themselves for shots can be difficult when space is not available. The penguin meeples are very well balanced making flicking them come with a lot of finesse. According to the rule book you can go through multiple doors to catch multiple fish. This is a feat that would take a lot of dexterity. It is possible to jump walls as well though this can be a bit messy at times, especially when your 9 year old jumps it at an open drink container.
Overall the game is quite fun and challenging.
