The Beginning
Let me start from the beginning and take you through my journey of how and why I started blogging on Steemit and why ShadowBot is so crucial to my story.
I am a freelance content writer and I have worked with various clients over the last few years. In 2016, I decided to be a fulltime content writer and I started working with clients that I found on Upwork.
It was all going fine, I was getting good clients. The pay was not much but still, it was not bad either.
Everything was going fine until I got greedy.
The Money
I was being paid $15 per hour and I was making less than $50-$75 a week. This is not bad for me as I live in India and most young people in India make around $300-$400 a month.
But now after working full-time for almost a year I wanted to earn a little more. This is when I got a little greedy and forgot to do a little research on the new client that was hiring me.
The New Client
The client offered to pay me $25 per 1000 words and he said he needed at least 2000-3000 words a day. That meant that I was going to earn at least $50-$75 a day.
$75 is what I was making in a week with my previous client.
This was amazing and too good to be true.
I know there are writers who earn more than that but for me, this was a dream come true.
Research, research, research
Without doing much research on the client I started to work for him. He provided me lots of work and I kept on churning content on various topics that he kept offering me.
I made an excel sheet and kept track of the number of words I was writing. We both had agreed that he would pay me once a week for the first few weeks and later he would pay me once or twice a month.
The bigger the dream the bigger the disappointment
One week later he told me he will process the payment later and I kept on working with the hope that he would pay me the coming week.
This went on for a few more days. I was expecting a huge payment from him. This was exactly one year back and it was the Muslim month of Ramadan. I was planning on buying clothes for my family.
I thought I would buy an iPhone for my brother or a Car if I kept earning at this pace.
No Response
But all my dreams were crushed when one fine day the client stopped responding to my emails and skype messages.
I tried calling his cellphone but there was no response. I was devastated.
It was then that I realized that I was duped.
Duped by a very cunning man who exploited my trust but to be honest it was all my fault. It was me who didn’t research the company.
I was emotionally broken. I was sad and for the next few months, I stopped working.
Welcome to the world of Steemit
Soon after this, I fell ill. I had a fever and frequent nosebleeds. The doctors said there was nothing wrong. I got nose bleeds due to some nerve damage in my nose or somewhere near it.
And during this period I got to know about Steemit and I registered it. It was a nice platform which I felt could help me make a little money.
So, in June 2017 I registered and I started blogging on Steemit in July and August.
I remember trying to write the best content and commented on as many posts as possible. But I didn’t earn much. With the recent failure, I was determined to work hard and make my place on Steemit.
I tried different methods to earn from Steemit. I tried self-voting for over many weeks and I bought small delegation with whatever I had earned. This helped me a little.
When and how did I join ShadowBot?
I don’t remember the exactly when ShadowBot was started but I remember I joined Shadowbot when it was just one week old.
I was one of the first 50 people on ShadowBot
It was probably in the month of November when I was traveling in a train to attend the wedding of my cousin that I first felt that I was not making any money with ShadowBot and others were making.
The misunderstanding with ShadowBot
Yes, back then Shadow Bot was not as profitable as it is now. And I noticed that I was not even getting half of what I was contributing to the bot.
That’s when I wrote a comment on one of the ShadowBot’s posts and I told that the only person benefiting from shadowbox was ShadowBot itself.
Surprisingly ShadowBot deleted my account, they felt that I wanted them to delete my account so they did it. But then it was all a misunderstanding and Shadowbot reinstated my account.
And to apologize for their mistake, ShadowBot increased my Shadow Rank and since then I started to get a decent amount of upvotes since then and I have been fortunate to be part of ShadowBot since the beginning.
Money Money Money
Soon the prices of Steem and Steem Dollars started to fluctuate and for some reason, the price of Steem Dollars reached an all-time high of US $16 and the price of Steem went on going down in the internal market.
Steemit’s Internal Market
Since the price of Steem Dollar was going up, the price of Steem was going down. I saw this an opportunity and started buying as much Steem as possible by selling all the Steem Dollars in the Steemit’s Internal Market.
At one time I have over 150 Steem and I have gifted more than 50 Steem to many of my friends who joined Steemit. And soon I made it a point to gift at least 5 Steem to any friend who joined Steemit.
The Massive Delegation
At the end of 2017, I had over 100 Steem and I bought Delegated Steem Power with it. I got more than 1800 SP and from all my SP purchases I had over 3000 Steem for until April 2018.
The price of Steem was around US$8 and I had more than $1000 worth of Steem but I decided to buy delegation for myself and gift the rest to my friends.
How much did I cash out from Steemit?
I didn’t cash anything out until the beginning of 2018 and since then I have cashed out more than $2000 worth of Steem and this was all possible because of ShadowBot.
Apart from cashing out the Steem Dollars, I have also made a few investments in Crypto and others places.
Crypto-Investments
300 Bitshares
25,000 Doge Coins
300 Electroneum
500 Storm
10 Ripple
2 Lite Coins
Little investment in ETH, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and a few others.
Conclusion
Steemit is great and ShadowBot is the best thing that has happened in Steemit. Since the short time that ShadowBot has been here, it has changed the lives of many of its users. Making money with Steemit is not that easy unless you are a good writer and you have a huge following.
And when you add ShadowBot to your account, your account gets a boost that will not only help you earn a little but it will also help you get noticed. It has changed my life in more than I can express. I owe a lot to ShadowBot.
I know this post is long, too long but I had to express my gratitude towards ShadowBot and I couldn’t do that with a small post. I had to put it all out so that the developers of ShadowBot will know what they have created and how much it has impacted my life.
This is cool, but you fail to tell us how shadowbot helped you. I will really love to know how this shadowbot works. Thank you

If you haven't registered on ShadowBot.us then you need to do it right away.
Shadow Bot aims to help people get money and the ability to get exposure on Steemit.
It takes your upvotes and gives it to someone who deserves it. And when you post, it takes upvotes of other users and gives it to you.
But wait, don't mistake it for some upvote exchange bot. It is not. It only gives the vote to the people who deserve it. It has many ways to know who deserves your upvote.
Shadowbot has has a semi-automatic process where the developers check your account and determine based upon a rank called ShadowRank.
The better the rank the more you earn.
This is just a small intro to ShadowBot. If you need a detailed response then do tell.
