Is the Land Lord Serious?!

Today I picked up a couple of things so we could actually cook a meal. We've been existing on sandwiches and cereal. Lol.

And the stove is not plugged in. I found this strange. I know it works. I saw the clock on it when the inspecter was here. They turned on the burners and all that.

But when I go to plug it back in to use it... It doesn't reach the only outlet nearby that is right for the type of plug it has.

This one is at a normal stove/oven plug in height, but does not match in any way.

And even pulling, this is as close as it gets.

I completely turned the stove sideways on order to plug it in. The display does not turn on like ot did when the inspector was here.

What the fuck am I dealing with here? This guy is shady as fuck! Just once I would like to have a home owner on the up and up. Just once.

You didn't include a picture of the gas line meaning, you may have a large metal container good for holding cookie sheets and other bakeware.

I can think of no other thing than the stove was replaced after the inspector left.

Unless there was an extension cord run somewhere. But, that would have been obvious.

Also, you said you turned the stove sideways meaning:
You do not have a gas line. Because I would never try to turn a stove that had a gas-line connected to it. And there usually isn't enough length.

So, bottom line is you have a gas range, in a spot that is set up for an electric range. Time to call the owner and say WTF.

(if there is a gas line, provide a picture.)
(also, look for a hole in the side of one of the cabinets to snake the cord into. May be a plug inside one of the cabinets)

It is gas. The electric part runs the igniton and the timers etc.

He took the adaptor so it could plug in next to the stove.

Why the hecko would he take the adaptor?!

He brought it back when I raised a stink about not being able to use the stove.

Probably because such an adapter is frikken expensive.
Why their isn't a regular outlet behind the range is a mystery to me. Its like the standard thing to do when installing a gas line.

Further, if it was me, I would have added a regular outlet next to the 220V plug. just because its far easier and cheaper to go buy a handy box and screw it next to it.

maybe you dont need the plug. Maybe if you have a lighter, it will work. Sometimes the plug is just for the light of the oven and the lighter function for the burners. Is it possible that your landlord used an extension cord?
I don't know, some landlords are just asswholes so for all i know, he could have replaced it with.

Yeah, are you sure it's the same stove? Where's the gas? O.o

A plug on a gas stove?

Ugh.....I hear you. Oh how I hear you. Am very tired of the whole roommate thang.....sigh. I woulda been calling the landlord too with a rant! Uggghhhhhh
