New Delhi: Hasin Jahan wife of Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami has been making grave accusations against the fast bowler and on Sunday revealed that why the paceman hasn't divorced her. Kolkata Police has already charged Shami under several sections of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of a complaint filed by Jahan alleging domestic violence, infidelity, attempt to murder among others. The issue has been see-sawing from Jahan making accusations and Shami denying the charges.

On Sunday, in a presser in Kolkata, Jahan claimed that because she had found Shami’s mobile phone, which she alleges contain all the data regarding Shami's adultery, the cricketer would have divorced her. “I tried to convince him that he should accept his mistake, I have been trying for very long. He would've run away to UP by now if I did not catch hold of that mobile phone, he would've divorced me till now if I did not have the mobile phone," said Jahan.

Pleading her case in front of the media Jahan said that she has tried to save the marriage but it went beyond her control. "He's making up all sorts of things to save himself from allegations. Why didn't the media investigate even after I gave them all the details? Till the day I took to social media, I tried to convince him to save our marriage. If he tries to come back I may still consider,” she added.

Reacting to the latest comment by Jahan, Shami was quoted as saying by ANI: "If this matter can be solved by talking, nothing can be better than that. Only patch up will do good for us and our daughter. If I have to go to Kolkata to solve the matter, I will. I am ready to talk, whenever she wants."

Talking exclusively to TIMES NOW, the bowler had already expressed his desire to sort things out with his wife so that he can get back his 'happy family', once again.

"I want things to patch up so that we can once again be a happy family. Investigate the allegations first and if it is proven, I am ready to accept anything and if things go the other way, then she has to give the answers. I think it would be better if we can sit and sort out things within the family," said Shami.

In the midst of all the allegations, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has withheld his central contract. The IPL franchise Delhi Daredevils which Shami is part of has also taken a cautious step and is waiting for BCCI's move to make him part of the squad.

The 28-year-old Shami was charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC, following a complaint filed by his wife. He has been charged under section 498A, which amounts to cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives. The other charges recorded against Shami are under Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34.
