Have you ever tasted boerewors?

in share2steem •  6 years ago

Boerewors is a South African word which when translated, literally means "farmers sausage". The most popular recipes consist of 80% beef and 20% pork... 90% of the final product needs to be meat, with the remainder consisting of spices and water... popular spices include nutmeg, coriander, cloves, allspice and salt & pepper.

I never tasted this food. Looks so interesting food. And must be tasty.

FOR Sure! Very tasty... Almost guaranteed to find it at every braai (aka BBQ) held in South Africa.

Looks interesting! I love trying new foods. It’s a great way to explore a culture!

Sweet as in "Sweet Bru"... or sweet as in the opposite of savoury?
'cos it's definitely more of a savoury food... and a delicious one too (OK, I may be biased) :-)

it looks like the italian Luganega! :D

opens a new tab in chrome to google 'Luganega' :-)

P.S. thanks BTW... I love learning about other countries/cultures and their food habits/tastes.

Proud South African so the answer is YES hahaha

Goeie werk ;-)

Strange looking?
hmmmm.... first time I've heard that. Would you try it though?

Spiral sausages are great. I tried that at a south African BBQ party i went to when you fellows hosted a world cup. In Korea we have a blood sausage called sundae, not to be confused with the desert. Its filled mostly with rice and blood i guess. It is served fried with salt and sometimes spicy sauce. L

Why can't we have both? :P
