In 2009 May, more than 140,000 innocent men, women, and children were killed in #mullivaikal in the northern province of Sri Lanka by the armed forces of the Sri Lankan government.

PEARL Action has started a petition to UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet because "ten years after the Tamil genocide, the Sri Lankan government has taken no steps to deliver criminal justice for atrocity crimes. Since agreeing to establish a hybrid judicial mechanism in UN Human Rights Council Resolution 30/1 (2015), the government has continually rejected investigations and prosecutions of atrocity crimes, especially the involvement of foreign judges, lawyers, and investigators."
