Petra is a magnificent place to visit.
Buy the Jordan 2 day pass and actually enjoy the time there instead of rushing to see everything.
The Monastery is a long walk or an easy donkey ride up ( not for the faint hearted) and is worth every step.
Bargain as much as you can, you are a tourist and everyone is trying to make a bit more cash.
If you planning to spend a few days in Petra you can look online for the various passes you can purchase.
Try to go early in the morning when the amount if people are still low!
