SHARE YOUR MOVIE CHALLENGE (# 02) - LITERARY ADAPTATIONS - ENTRY

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

I am sure there are many that like as much as i do Lord of the Rings, both the book and the movie.
With the new CHALLENGE: SHARE YOUR MOVIE (# 02) - LITERARY ADAPTATIONS. by @wiseagent I am going to share my thoughts about the movie and why I think it is one of the greatest.

If you like to participate, follow the link above for the rules.

Once I read an article how the young Peter Jackson reading the book was wondering why nobody has filmed it yet. Later he did it and he did it brilliantly. It is hard to adapt a book so multilayered and with so many characters and not to be lost. The risk not to succeed is big, in my humble opinion. To create a trilogy is even bigger task. However the crew did fantastic job. The first thing that made me thrilled was the beggining of The Fellowship of the Ring. Then I remember how impatient I was waiting for the next part - The Two Towers and the last - The Return of the King.

What makes that film so great and my favourite?

  • The story, obviously, but presented in a way that kept me watching it without making it boring. As you know the length of the films, especially the extended versions is rather big. To keep the attention of the audience for so long and also to be true to the original book, this is a big advantange for the success of the movie.
  • The fantasy world of the Middle Earth combined with natural beauty of New Zealand is another important point that makes the trilogy so pleasant to watch. The green lavish Hobbiton, the high mountains with icy peaks, that is what I really imagined reading the books and they were so well presented on the screen.
  • The music is again among the most important aspects for making the movie unforgettable.
  • Watching behind the scenes, one can realize how much effort was put in every detail, so to make the big picture. I am talking about the costumes, the armour, weapons.
  • Actors and all the crew deserve our big admiration for making the trilogy one of the best movies ever.

An excellent choice and a well-done motivation. Good luck, you cannot not be chosen among the winners. Good luck!

Thank you for your constant support!

My pleasure!

I totally agree with you: LOTR is one of the greatest movies ever made. Cast, scenery and story... everything created for the viewer's pleasant experience.
My personal favourite would be The Two Towers as I like how nature fights back the savage metal. 🙂

Thank you Roxy! I like fantasy books and films, but LOTR is simply classic.
