IoP, “De-uberizing” the sharing economy.

The sharing economy has become the shield of several entrepreneurs who seek through digital platforms to connect suppliers of products and services with their customers. This business model presents its best exponents in Uber, AirBnB and others; in which there is a good (or service) that after its normal use leaves room for it to be used by someone who requires it without the need to acquire it (and to disburse an amount of money) and only to make a temporary use.

Under that idea was born Uber (service that I am a user and enjoy more than using local cabs) and initially sought people with time and a vehicle available so they could offer the private transfer service to individuals needing to move from one point to another . Initially the services that I took if they corresponded to this profile of service provider; Today, the “drivers” that have recently offered me service are entrepreneurs who have bought their vehicle (and are paying for another one that drives their closest friend) and dedicate themselves full time to Uber and I would dare to assure that the first generation of drivers in their free time is an endangered specie.

Similar case happened with AirBnB, the largest lodging company that does not own a single room, and has evolved in a manner similar to Uber, to use collaboratively to real estate or part of them partially unoccupied to be an industry where people and companies acquire apartments and houses to put them to the service of tourists who prefer to pay this service to be guests of a hotel. In both cases more than selling us a service they sell an experience.

Every time we hear more often in the world of entrepreneurship that someone “uberized” a service, understanding as the found of a good or an underutilized service that someone is willing to pay for it, since it solves the need to take advantage of it without having to buy it and in return you will pay a small amount of money and above all, you will have a wonderful experience of using it.

I recently heard that the company that “uberized” the parking lot has already emerged, so that in certain areas of the city people who have a parking space (inside or outside their building) can offer people who have the need to the temporary use of the parking lot is moved to that area; of course all through an application, which provides the services occupy the cloud, give us our personal data, our banking data, create a feedback system to qualify users and places, etc. If the evolution of the model Uber follows its course, in a short time we will see the public parking lots going up to this platform and if there were chance that there were empty parcels we could see the owners integrating them to this platform (if not a costly investment).

This model of “sharing” economy includes to be successful who has the good, who needs it, and who develops the platform so that they are, so it is “fair” for whoever invests in the platform takes 20% to 30% of the value of the transaction; thus recovering the operating expenses and earn a profit in addition to risking your money and your time in this company.

There is a sharing economy proposal in which transactions are made between who has the good (or service) and who uses it, and can minimize (or eliminate) the commission of transactions for the benefit of this economic system, but also of the privacy of the people and the protection of their data.

The Internet of People is the service infrastructure that enables person-to-person relationships to be established for business transactions; its distributed and decentralized blockchain-based system allows personal data to remain on the end-user device, while the server profiles and proximity will be responsible for establishing the necessary connections to link them.

Do you also make monetary operations ?, our cryptocurrency, the IoP, allows to realize them with all the security that the blockchain provides, and the low of the commissions that characterize the cryptocurrency.
