 It definitely looks like Sherlock Holmes 3 is in the pipeline. When is not clear yet (as of October 11, 2015). Here's are two links to news article . 

                                                

 Sherlock Holmes 3 is finally happening and both Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. are on board and very much excited for the movie. Additionally, Jude Law expresses that he believes that the upcoming Sherlock Holmes 3 is the best Sherlock Holmes movie by far.
