Krasin Icebraker

The icebraker Krasin is the first russian icebraker class ship built for the Imperial Navy. She first had a name Svyatogor. She was taken by Brits during the Russian Civil War. The ship was later returned to Soviet Russia according to trade argeement.
After that the ship was given a new name Krasin after the prominent bolshivik leader.
The Icebraker Krasin is famous in taking part in rescue mission of the Nobile Polar Expedition. Umbmerto Nobile took a trip to the North Pole on an airship Italia. But it crashed and the explorer got stuck on the ice. So Krasin was sent to rescue his crew.
During WWII the ship took part in Northern Convoys to help supply the Red Army in it's battle agains Nazi Germany.
After the war Krasin took part in many scientific expeditions.
