Aleksa's Book Review: 90% of Everything

Next up is shipping - as I'm currently at one such event and I was faced with much chagrin as to my ignorance of the maritime glossary. This week's reading will hopefully remedy in part that deplorable hole in my knowledge.

This book explains the "female" side of shipping - by which I don't mean the seafarers of the female sex (who often get sexually assaulted on ships - true story) but rather a general overview of the shipping industry, rather than the concrete analysis of its intricacies.

By no means does that detract from this tome, which is excellent at introducing land-lubbers to the nature of the modern ship, which is essentially prison you get paid for. It's a depressing book to go into, but instrumental.

Definitely recommend, just be prepared to feel guilty for buying products that are cheaply shipped. Which is around 99% of everything, as the cover says.
