Shit Post Sunday: Notekeeping

in shitpostsunday •  5 years ago

A 90-second Shit Post Sunday post, proposed by @robertandrew - https://steempeak.com/@robertandrew/introduction-of-shit-post-sunday-try-to-write-post-in-under-60-seconds. This was something I could not resist!

Rules:

  1. You have 90 seconds to write a blog post from start to finish about anything your heart desires
  2. Try to make it as high quality as you can and the "concept" should be at the spur of the moment
  3. Or (here is the catch) is it even possible to be high quality in such a short period of time ...hence the title "Shit Post Sunday"

So, here we go....

I have for a very long time been on the lookout for and studyign the best ways to "keep notes." I work mostly on a computer and have tried Evernote, OneNote, and others, and have found them all lacking in something or another.

My personal favourite these days is Joplin - joplinapp.org - it's a great Markdown editor with the ability to sync securely. Multiple notebooks, todo-lists the way they should be, and all in Markdown. Give it a try!

If paper is still a thing, try rocket book. Remember, do not microwave this notebook!

Ahhh! I came close. I had everything but the picture in 90 seconds. Does the picture count against?

How the heck did I not follow you until now. I should be booted from PHC hahaha!!!

This was actually a very useful shit post - well to me anyway, because I was literally thinking about precisely that earlier this morning. I have so much on my to do list and also so many ideas milling around in my head for community plans etc. and like you - I have also tried it all. Going to check this new one out later today - thank you.

As for the paper... my notebook is still lying next to me as I type this haha!

Haha, I hear ya! I use the Rocketbook (which I still do not microwave - I love that warning) when I'm in meetings or need to diagram, then it all gets put into Joplin after that. I would like to see it improve it's search capabilities, but that's about the only shortcoming I've found so far.

Yeah I still like my pen and paper... the old school in me is a die hard haha! Although my writing SUCKS now because I don't do much of it.

This is almost like a 5 minute Freewrite @wwwiebe 😁

Haha, yeah, I was thinking that too, and thinking how I need to get back into freewriting. I'm probably going to start a new story and let the other one lie.

Good one WW. I think you should be freewriting more.

Yes. Yes I should. I will start again soon.
