The 500 units that went on sale this past Tuesday have sold out in a matter of hours and are already being auctioned for 1,000 euros on eBay
Travel free in Berlin with these new Adidas' shoes'!
The 90th anniversary of the Berlin transport network (BVG) proved to be a success. With the idea that people would dare to use public transport in the German capital and leave the car behind, BVG has partnered with Adidas to create 500 pairs of shoes, for a price of 180€, with the colors that identify the transport network and the camouflage design that we can see on the seats of trains, buses or metros. But what's so special about these sneakers?
It's not just any pair of slippers, it has a peculiarity that has driven people crazy. For this price of 180€, you get a free ticket to travel on the transport network until December 31st. A special bill... which is sewn to the slipper! This means that for this price, the owners will not have to pay the 728€ of the real annual ticket and if a ticket checker asks for the ticket of their trip they will only have to show the lapel of their slipper.
Last Tuesday, hundreds of people lined up for hours in order to get hold of them, but with a hidden interest: resell them later on the Internet. In fact, there are already many people who are upping the pair that have bought from eBay and are auctioning it for about 1000 euros. We are sure that more than one, being such an exclusive model with an added incentive, will bid for them.
Of course, the next question comes to mind: who will buy them, will they be willing to take their slippers with them at all times so as not to pay for their transportation?
