That moss is fascinating, especially as a cap on the stump.
Where I live south of Lake superior is not as far north as you are, so our moss doesn't grow quite as lush. It seems to thrive in cooler climates.

    Thanks! It was a nice find! Much of the forest looks like that here, very mossy, and you’re right, definitely colder LoL
