This is a prelude and three-part fugue that I improvised in a way inspired by the style of Shostakovich's Preludes and Fugues in A flat Major. His Preludes and Fugues were, in turn, inspired by J.S. Bach's Well-Tempered Klavier (which was also a book of 24 Preludes and Fugues).
