'Show Some Love In Your Community' - World Food DaysteemCreated with Sketch.

in show-love •  6 years ago

I have always put it in my mind to help as many people as I can in my lifetime. I have a dream and I am praying towards it. I saw a contest going on by @black-man for the World Food Day and I fell in love with it and decided to join. If you will like to join visit this post about the contest. you still have time to enter before 6:00 pm GMT on 18th of September, 2018.

I was thinking of going out and do something good by sharing some food but by the time I finished up I won't be able to participate in the contest. Then I decided to share this particular one that happened four days ago.

I have an elderly friend who was in need badly as she had to walk away to her working place which is not a small journey and not only that, her children did not eat for a whole of 24 hours. She tried calling me but I was not reachable as I was having an issue with my mobile.

She finally reached me the second day from her working place and told me that the children will be coming to my place after school so they can have something to eat. I was troubled to have heard all the story and I felt I should do more for her but my own power was limited as I was having nothing at hand at that time. I was waiting for the children but did not see them. I called their mum and she informed me that they are at home already and a neighbour had cater for them.

I was relieved and pleaded with her to branch my place when she's coming back from work. When she arrived. I gave her some foodstuffs out of the one that I have at home and we talked about her movements and other related things.

I am not sharing this to esteem myself but to tell us that out of the little we have, we can still give to another person who did not have at all. An adage in my language says:

Eni ti iwo bani'pa lati 'se iranlowo fun, ohun ni eni'keji re. Toju e.

Meaning: Whosoever you have the capacity to help is your friend. Take care of the person.

Thanks for reading and go out there to help someone and you will feel good within yourself.
