Since I got a Showtime free trial, I found the one series they seem to have interesting. Sadly, that first episode is only interesting to count how many cliché tropes we can find...
10 years after he escaped inside that hurricane, Jim Lindsay (Dexter Morgan) now live in Iron Lake, NY, a small village where basically nothing happens. Until one day, where a rowdy customer comes to his hunting store and gets declined to purchase a gun...
As I said in the intro, this first episode is basically a festival of clichés
- the female officer (who's also Native)
- the black officer
- the handicapped woman with artificial limbs
- the gay couple who wants to adopt (a dog)
- the Latinos (who, according to my Dominican husband, have English accents)
- the spoiled rich brat who lives a depraved life and eventually gets killed
Otherwise, other than Dexter meeting Harrisson (his son) at the end of the episode, there is really nothing redeeming. I will keep watching, but my hopes aren't too hight
Final rating: 2/5
