Trekker with Moon and Clouds - Silhouettes

in shrikhand •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hi Steemitian,

You won't believe me, but behind me that is not Sun, but Moon. In the lap of higher Himalayas, in dark at 4:30 AM in the morning, I was climbing to reach the peak of Shrikhand Kailash at 5200 metres. The place of click is almost at an Altitude of 4000 metres about MSL, on a trek to Shrikhand Kailash in Himachal Pradesh in India. The trek is considered as the most difficult trek of India. The clouds shine bright below the altitude even in the Moonlight.

This photo was taken by my fellow trekker with my Samsung Galaxy J7 prime smartphone.

Wow, must have been cold up there above the clouds.

Yeah, it is the falling summer season here, yet I had to wear all the warm cloths, including a woolen cap, famous in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

Watch this a minute's length video, that I shot on Glacier while climbing up there. There are three more videos of Shrikhand trek, of same length, you would love them for sure.

Yeah, amazing but makes me tired, lol!

you meant, trekking makes you tired, right? It takes good stamina with hiking, body must be fit.

Well, yeah, I meant it must have been a strenuous hike and you sounded winded. I'm sure the altitude makes a difference too. I am not in shape, lol!

Yes, altitude becomes the major factor for most people, because they are not acclimatized with such altitude. The lack of oxygen creates altitude sickness. It was my first time to reach such heights, so I got a mild headache, and body went lethargic, so yeah it was very tough, especially the last 2 kilometres while reaching the top at 5200 metres altitude. That you saw in video, I spoke Hindi in there, but you understood my tone, bravo! Actually I talked the same thing in video, that is my exhaustion at that height.
