Women and SHTF

I am wonder what most women are think about SHTF event.

Do you think it's the mans job to prepare for this? I do my own preparations. Bought my own gun that's right for me. Built my own bug out bag in case I need it. Stock pile my share of the food and water and bullets. Did my own research on the things I buy to be prepared. Built My own first aide kit.

Ladies if SHTF your going to go through it so get prepared. The man in your life if you have one can only do so much for you. Help out and support him. But you need to do your part too. Not everything that a man uses will be something you are comfortable using. Go out and practice using your items, get use to them. Even food wise if you never tasted it why stock pile it. Your water filter use it to get use to it.

You don't want SHTF to come and not be comfortable with what you have. If you have a man who is not prepared you need to start and ask him to help with it and work as ateam.

Unlike regular life, TEOTWAWKI doesn't allow for one person doing the work of many. That will only go so far until the everything breaks down.

Glad you got my point. I wasn't sure if people would understand what I was saying.

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of people who won't get what you are saying. ;) I think you know what I mean.

yes I know what you mean

what is a SHTF event?

Shit hits the fan. Is a event that could possibly happen. War, Emp attack, a world with out law. Basically when everything breaks down . The end of the world as we know it.

Why do you think somebody should prepare for?

Beside to a media hysteric advertising for selling all those crap?

What is a probability what that sort of events would happen in your life? and who did give you this idea and why? ;)

Job loss, sickness in the family. Anything can happen in your life. You could become homeless. Some people don't live sheltered lives. Try living without power for a couple of weeks because of a hurricane.

any gun wouldn't help for lob loss or sickness or homeless.

I would recommend everyone:

  • to prepare a money pillow for 1 year regular expenses including mortgage payments for a job loss and have an additional few skills for another jobs-areas.
  • medical insurance, vitamins and regular doctors checkout for sickness.
  • homeless would be covered with 1st suggestion

I lived more than a few weeks without power in my life - nothing special - canned food and food prepared on a fire. Go to a long expedition in Amazon or Siberia forests for understanding it's not something special.

and DO remember all your thoughts always come to your life. If you think all disasters would happen with you, then they definitely would. If you think all happiness will happen in your life, then they would too. It's so easy, just to switch a mind, instead of living in a stress about things which would never happen.

Good luck!

I do all the prepping for the most part. My husband is sick so it's fallen on my shoulders. I think women, and especially if there are children involved, are better at the family preps anyway. Great topic! Resteemed

Sorry about your husband. Glad you are taking care of your family. Thanks

I find that we've each got our own specialties. He's got the water and electrical systems on lock down while I've got the garden, wildcrafting and plant identification, and medicinal herbs down. We overlap on some of the others. I think it matters what your skills are not whether you're a man or woman.

I have talked to women who think it's a mans job to prepare and put no effort in supporting or helping with being prepared. It's more important to get their finger nails and toe nails done instead.

Those gals will NOT make it, sadly.

I feel bad for them, but it's their choice.

I know them too. Zombie bait. ( ;

LOL

Somehow I felt that this should be left here ...
