Lifestraws Came In the Mail!

Good afternoon, Steemians!

I had forgotten that I had ordered two more life straws to add to my collection, if you will, when I went out to get the mail.

If you're not familiar with the life straw, you should really check it out. It's basically revolutionary technology that allows you to filter unclean water from an unclean source and have it be clean. I have a few Lifestraws, which I highly recommend. They "Make contaminated water safe to drink." It's truly amazing the technology at our fingertips and I'm sure many people haven't even heard of this revolutionary, life-saving device. Basically one straw costs around $15 if you get a 3-pack, and each one can filter 1,000 liters of contaminated water, or enough water for 1 human to drink in one year. That blows my mind. A few big name YouTubers have tested these out, such as Rhett and Link. Here is a link to the website and the video underneath:

I recently made a post where Rhett and Link made a video testing this product out. They drink some pretty gross stuff through the Lifestraw. I believe they even drank urine from a urinal.

The two I picked up

Now we have a total of four, so in a SHTF situation, my wife and I would both have clean drink water for 2 years. (1 Lifestraw yields about 1,000 liters of water, about what one person consumes in a year).

I have much more peace of mind knowing that I could drink my rainwater with this thing and 99.999999% of bacteria would be removed.

Anyway, please read up on these if you haven't already, they're not expensive and well worth your life if something threatens the water supply!

Thanks for stopping by, Steemians!

Hi, I'm vegan too and just getting the block chain bug. Lifestraws are awesome, so glad to see you are into such similar things. Followed looking forward to your future content!

Thanks man! Will follow you as well!

Thanks. I'm totally into the fruit forresting as well. My wife and I are buying a place in Portugal and will start planting trees this fall.
I saw the pineapples you are growing. Are you in Hawaii?

Florida :) Wow Portugal that's neat! I speak Spanish, which is similar to Portuguese but definitely not the same :D Both are Romance languages which originate from Latin. I'm sure you already knew that :D but I'm a teacher so I can't help it lol

Oh, Florida would be great for growing all kinds of things too! I speak some Spanish (1 year in High School). Definitely a lot of the same and similar words. I need to get on with the Portuguese in preparation.

Hi, I like silver and happen to also got some Lifestraws for the same reason you described. It is nice to see that others have the same beliefs.

I should def have a few of these just cause..u know..North Korea 😝

Lol you laugh.... but their aim might not be so great. They go to take out NYC and accidentally take out your town along with Tilt Cove, Newfoundland... The four of us would be so pissed. Screen Shot 2017-08-05 at 6.51.19 PM.png

Ahahahaha! I just saw your location!!! I nearly pissed my pants, your friggin hilarious. We should make a pact to meet there someday and get loaded..maybe arrested idk? 😝

Hahaha 5 years from today. August 5th, 2022. I formally declare August 5th Tilt Cove Day.

Wow! Had no ideas these even existed until now. Definitely will be getting a few, especially knowing its illegal to collect your own rainwater in many places here in the states.

That's really fucked up. But yeah these things are amazing.

Awesome! Haven't order mine just yet. Too distracted with all the crazy cryptos. Hehe
Aloha

You get a lot of rainwater in HI I'm sure, depending on where you are. Don't most people have big 1,000 gallon rainwater collection tanks in their backyards on the island?

I'm sure on a lot of places such as country sides but I live on a rental in the crowded city of Honolulu. I do however get filtered water from those vending machines every month for drinking and cooking...20-22gallons. Kinda heavy to lug but it is what it is
