Sikur, a company dedicated to mobile security solutions, has announced two new proprietary encrypted phones, specifically targeted at cryptocurrencies. The two models are called SKIURPhone XZ1 and SIKURPhone XA2, and if these names are known to you, it's because the two devices are Sony XPERIA models with factory-owned Sikur software.
The new SIKURPhone runs the SikurOS operating system, which is based on Android, but uses "secure" applications that only make encrypted data transfers that can not be intercepted. Sikur claims that its digital wallet for cryptocurrencies is "the safest on the market" and that its operating system provides PC inter-operability through a desktop software suite that can also facilitate encrypted text, voice or video encryption on next to the cryptocurrency exchange. There are also features for companies that offer remote access to devices.
Sikur claims to launch an SikurOS application store where users can find secure software to install on SIKURPhone, as they currently do not have access to the Google Play Store or Play Services. But how much does a one-year-old Sony-powered smartphone cost? Well, the SIKURPhone XZ1, the high-end model, equipped with the Snapdragon 835, comes at a price of $ 850, a higher price than the original Sony model released in 2017. The mid-range SIKURPhone XA2 is listed at $ 650.
