Despite the rapid increase of aged population in Korea, the cultural infrastructures for those generations are barely in the beginning. Opened only a few years ago, the Silver Cinema in Jongno, Seoul, is one of a few cinemas specialized for the elderly citizens. Housed in the old building of Nagwon Arcade, the Silver Cinema is conveniently located in a short walking distance from Tapgol Park, a famous gathering place for senior generations. Classic films from the 1940s-1960s are showing all the year round, at a fixed ticket price of 2,000 won, about one fifth of the regular ticket price of a multiplex.
