Small Silver Coins

Having stacked silver for many years, I have reached the point of evaluating the mix of physical silver in my stack. a1drjohnthumb.JPG

The problem with silver is partially in storage, but also in eventual liquidation.

For storage, I rely on hiding it ‘around’. I don’t expect to be robbed as I maintain a small profile. Others who advertise their financial status are better targets. It would require many days of exploration to find all of my stack.

The bigger problem is liquidation. I don’t expect to ever sell my silver. If I do sell some, larger bars would be more convenient if the price stays low.

I expect the price to eventually break free of pressures that have kept prices down. If prices jump to fair value, small silver coins will be preferred. Large bars may be used in trade for a big ticket item like a house... but I am. Not expecting such transactions.

If the price of silver jumps higher, 1/10th ounce coins will be most valuable.

For centuries, the ‘fair’ value of a day’s labor is 1/10 ounce of silver. In today’s suppressed pricing, this would be $1.60.
However if you divide an average weekly wage in the US by 7, the value is closer to $300. Silver is drastically under valued.

Here is today’s beauty.
