Star wars: A New Hope 40th Anniversary coin
A unique, rectangular coin featuring a replica image of the original 1977 poster design. The coin has a mintage of 10,000 and a $2 face value fron Niue.
The coin is set in a magnetic plastic case which is quite nice and a good display piece, not sure if there is going to be any other releases for the other Star Wars films or if i would collect them if they did but this coin is actually very nice, not usually my thing and im not one to collect coloured coins. Sold out very quickly at the mint and might appreciate nicely.

Yea, was surprised just how fast it ended up in my shopping basket when it was released, not something i would usually buy. Not a fan of film type coins or ones with colour but this one shows that done right there can be a bit of class to such a coin, very rare tho lol

Those are amazing, I really considered it at release being a big Star Wars fan but decided to pass, probably a bad decision

It is a seriously nice piece and it looks amazing in the plastic display case. The place i bought it said they expect the next release The Empire Strikes Back at the end of this month, if it is the first coin of a series then that would make it all the more special. Not sure if they are going to do all the films but that would be a spectacular set.
