1oz silver Shetland Islands Raven - Rare silver round
The Raven was privately minted in 2014 by the Shetland Bullion Company who sadly no longer exist. I fell in love with this round the second i saw it and had hoped there was going to be an annual release, possibly with a different Viking ship each year. The design was created by artist and sculptor Eugene Daube.
The raven was used by the Vikings to navigate and find land, they would release the raven and head in the same direction knowing the raven would instinctively head for land.
The idea Shetland Bullion had for this round was symbolic, they saw silver as the raven steering us stackers on the right course. I love this very rare piece.
Love a nice silver round. Really like this one! Never heard of this bullion co. before. I will look for these when I'm hunting. Be awesome to pick one up for near spot.
Plus you have to love the viking ship!

I keep having a look to get some idea of its value but very difficult to find. There was one on US Ebay a year or 2 ago for $120, not sure if it sold for that but i keep a tight hold of this round. You do have to love the viking ship, its amazing.
