What type of silver do you prefer the most? large bullion bars, small bullion bars, bullion coins or maybe old rare collector coins. My favourite type of silver is the low mintage collector coins, they can cost up to double or even triple the spot price. But with the silver price constantly being smashed to hell it has allowed me to collect these relatively rare coins at reasonable prices over the years. This has enabled me to build a rather nice collection, with some of the earlier purchases already selling for double or even triple the price I paid for them.
This has given me back my premium over spot that I paid, and quite a tidy little profit as well if I decided to sell them, even with silver price still being smashed. So when this price suppression fails, which it inevitably will, the silver price will skyrocket and everyone will want a piece of the action. The big players like banks, hedge funds and wealthy individuals will suck up the large bullion bars, and the smaller investors will dry up small bullion bars and coins. Everyone will be talking about silver, and these collector coins are relatively cheap and much more limited than other forms of silver, they are like little pieces of artwork and will become a lot more desirable than they are now, and i think they will explode in value compared to the spot price, in my opinion.
Actually I must confess, I like, and have all these types of silver, but cheap collector coins are my favourite type of silver.
Whats your favourite type of silver?
I could do with some silver. Was planning on converting some of my BTC gains over to a couple of kg of silver and oz Gold but Hmm too slow.

It's the hardest part of investing is knowing when to sell. You just have to start buying on a regular basis, dollar cost averaging as the say. Cheers

Yes they are very expensive now, but not when I bought them, but that was quite a while ago.

My collection is very boring. I only stack American Silver Eagles and a little Junk Silver. The premium doesn't bother me because ASEs are exempt from capital gains tax regardless of the amount exchanged at my LCS. Now If I lived in Arizona with the new legislation waiving capital gains tax on all gold & silver...I would broaden my collection to stacking rounds. Cheers @silverbug.

The problem with the Aussies is that they aren't offered by my dealers here in Canada, and the cost of shipping precludes buying them from Oz.

That's strange, we can buy Canadian and American bullion coin in Australia at good prices.

I use SilverGoldBull for bullion coin, and they do offer Aussies, but at premium prices when compared to American and Canadian issues.

I just buy generic rounds at .49 over spot. When the ASE premium is 2 dollars and silver is trading at $16, every extra 1.50 in premium is costing you just under 1/10 of a coin. https://sdbullion.com/1-oz-generic-silver-rounds
Avoiding those capital gains taxes on ASEs is nice, so I can't criticize that strategy. I also hear that money stores in Europe will cash ASEs and silver Mapleleafs for you.

I buy bullion bars mainly because in Australia we pay no tax on bullion when buying . The only things we pay any tax on is palladium and collector coins. But any silver is great. Cheers

Oh, we're on the same page as far as Ag investing, so you must be a sophisticated investor.
Many years ago there was a cartoon cat named Sylvester who always slurred his "S's", he called himself Thylvethter and was always after the puddicat. Sound familiar?

So, we all know it from Looney Tunes but I just looked it up. "Suffering Succotash" is the phrase and it is Early American to the max.
Corn, Beans and Squash are three Native American food items. When they are cooked together they are called succotash in the Algonquin language.

I'd really like to get a silver statue. It seems like a very solid investment (both literally and figuratively.) Also they have such a wide variety of shapes. A Silver Eagle would make a great paper weight on my desk, or book weight to keep the stack from toppling over. Something to hold onto for sure, probably wouldn't want to trade something that precious.

I completely agree with your article. I really love the 10 oz. perth coins and secondly the kilo coins, although the design on the kilos don't have the satin background like the 10 oz., they look more flat. Also, the 10 oz. feels just right when holding it and the art work looks very tight. Great article!

I like silver bars best simply because the Australian constitutions Act of confiscation doesn't cover silver bars. Gold coins gold bars and silver coins can be forcibly returned to the government if they so require..

There is a nice variety of 1kg coins in Australia, you have the kookaburra series with a different picture every year. They have a koala bear series and the lunar series with the chinese calendar depicting all the 12 animals. All have a 1/2 oz, 1oz, 2oz, 10oz and a 1kg, have a look they are beautiful coins.

Thanks for that, I don't buy many collector coins these day, for some reason the markup on collector coin keeps rising but the silver price doesn't, go figure! I think rounds will be the next best thing for the capital gains in the future. Cheers
