Do you wonder what the gold medals handed out during the Olympics are actually made of?

The answer is… Gold is is made of silver (with source referenced):

So Olympic Gold Medals are made of mostly silver with some gold - still pretty valuable from a melt standpoint at over $1,000 USD.

Cool, or not cool if you thought they were solid gold!

Thanks for coming by,

They should be made of solid gold, these people train constantly, they strive to be the best and represent different countries, they receive silver with gold plating so to speak, but it should be real gold what they receive is my humble opinion.

I thought they were metallic gold and look like this, if you did not make this clarification I would not believe , even the color is perfect.
