I love the first ten seasons of The Simpsons as much as anyone.

I grew up with it. It was one of the greatest shows ever made.

Still, I have to point out that the show probably perpetuated a mind virus against nuclear power that's set us back a generation.

We all know Three Mile Island. That scared the shit out of us while not killing anybody. After the HBO series on Chernobyl, people think that they're informed. In fact, some of the people who they showed dying in the series survived in real life. I think that the series did a good job of dealing with socialist lies and inefficiency. Still, the actual fallout from Chernobyl was miniscule by comparison to the number of people who die producing other forms of energy every year.

So, you have two horror stories. Most of you have two horror stories. One resulted in zero deaths. One resulted in very few, and it happened because of socialism -- not because of the technology, and definitely not because of capitalism.

If you really think that climate change is an existential threat, nuclear is a faster and better way to combat it than any of this wind or solar crap. Fewer people have died in the history of producing nuclear energy than die in coal mines or drilling for oil every year.

Lisa was always wrong on this issue. Homer was always right on this issue.
