THE FUTURE IS GOLDEN, ROAD TO A BETTER DAY (S.I.N2 DEDICATED POST)

in sin2 •  7 years ago

This post is made in respect of Steemit In Nigeria (SIN2) Conference which has been slated to hold between 30th October to 4th November, 2018. And so all SBD generated would be used to make SIN2 conference a success.

Life is a better teacher, perhaps if we are ready to learn. Our pasts either smooth or rough, are by-gone. Many at times we attach ourselves to the past failures and disappointments we had experience before allowing them to affect our decisions, and our present lives now because of its ripple effects, disrupt our glorious future.

This is an obvious fact in any society that you may find yourself that you will always be hurt but don't let that define you or your objectives in life. Have you ever seen an adult , teen in this present dispensation who hasn’t experienced some kind of emotional pain at one point or the other? Certainly, the ratio will be like 1:10 i.e figure one stands for people who has not while figure ten is for people who has experienced all sort of pains, troubles and suffering etc.

"The question life will pose at you is, what do you with that hurt is probably the most important thing than the hurt itself. Like a line from Beyonce's album - Lemonade, if life throws at you lemo, you make lemonade out of it. Would you rather be the life changer or the victim of circumstance?. Or do you prefer to ruminate endlessly about the past and something that cannot be changed?"
Our sight are in front to show us that the way forward is in front. Even those that invented automobiles have great vision about how our minds should work. The windshield is very big compared to what gives us the information about about our pasts.

This is just a short witty statement to remind us of that fact that the number of times we fall does not really matter, the times we are able to pick ourselves up and forge ahead to achieve the impossible, that's more important.

The popular talk show host, actress and producer cum philanthropist- Oprah Winfrey was a victim of rape, at a tender age she was raped. She gave birth at age 14, but unfortunately she lost the child. That didn't stop her from achieving greatness she always aspired for. Many Paralympics display their talents during competition people that are meant to be pitied, go out to earn an accolade for themselves despite their predicaments. Few among them is Oscar Pistorius.

Reasons To Forge Ahead

You can't change your past

The past is gone and whatever happens there can never be changed. You'll hear people say, "I miss the good old days" that was when you have more responsibilities or even still a dependent. Now is the time to face your reality. You can't go back to those days. Think of it this way, the past is a closed door while the future is still open

The past will slow you down

Picture this, your new personal Computer is filled with all your files from ages and it's overloaded with a lot of stuffs from the previous one. I assure you it'll drag if not crash. Our minds or call it brains are like computers, put too many things in there and your actions will always be attached to whatever has happened to you in the past.

It can break down your health

People that have experienced trauma in the past and don't let go, always have issues with their health. Name them, hypertension, heart attack, headache, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, obesity and the likes are their problems. Shake it off, don't let those past moments shape your life. The future is still golden

Our pasts are part of the journey

Imagine Usain Bolt, falling down on the track while running, if he stands up, there's a chance he might still win the race. Our pasts are meant to shape us to be stronger. Do you know cyanoacrylate? It was accidentally created by Doctor Harry Clover, but it later became his invention. If we don't fall, how do we appreciate standing up? Our experiences are part of our journey in life but it's not the destination.

The future is Golden

Yes, that's the destination I've been trying to talk about! Picturing what the future is enough to get one excited. The joy that it can only get better should make one smile when waking up.

Three things:
Forget the past
Live in the moment
Be excited for a golden future

Wow....filled with inspiring and motivational thoughts that just brought me back to life especially the line that said "the past is a closed door while the future is still open" gotten from the last line of the subtopic "you can't change your past". This line alone made me feel as if you were directly talking to me. Well, i just have to say my story. When i was a kid, my parents were doing well in their respective businesses as traders and we never lacked anything during my childhood. Unfortunately, my dad had a ghastly accident one day while returning from work, that was the beginning of suffering. We spent all the money treating him and even borrowed some from his friends. Finally he got Well, but things became so stiff for us to the extent that we no longer had anything doing, but he insisted that me and my junior sister must go to school. The way he did it, i don't know, i just have to say it's God all the way. I graduated from secondary school 2015, got admission 2016. My sister just graduated from secondary school this year. It was all by the grace of God. When i got admission, 2016, he still struggled to pay for everything and they kept on starving at home. Now I'm in my 2nd year in school but there was no way he can help me out with my school fees, due to the fact that we just buried our grandmom before I resumed for the 2nd year, 1st semester. So we had to spend all the money for the burial. I never knew it was gonn get worse to that extent for him to tell me to quit school but I said to myself that I'm not going to quit school. Instead of going back with them to where we stay, i decided to go back to the town where I school and that was I hustled my school fees from repairing and fixing of phones all by myself. What I'm trying to say is, whenever I remember all this past, it weighs me down a lot, sometimes i feel like this situation is going to continue all the time, i become so afraid of the future, but these words "the past is a closed door while the future is still open" gives me hope....at least i can see a bright future here on steemit.
Thanks to @theartisangroup for this piece of motivation. It was really great reading this
