THOUGHTS
He was a notorious sinner, in fact, a native doctor. His name was Ofordile. He had a reputation for killing people – even his son who spoke up against his evil ways. The part of him that gave him out as a wicked man was his habit of taking people's lands. Imagine such a person! Everyone cursed him and wished him dead. Amazingly, at his deathbed, Ofordile asked for a priest. He confessed his sins and received baptism. With that, he had gained access into the kingdom of God. God's mercy is so great. It is beyond human comprehension. The story of Ofordile reminds us of that of the Ninevites. They committed every kind of atrocity, but when they heard God's word, repented and experienced God's mercy. Today is a day of repentance. Repentance is the decision to quit a sinful lifestyle. Repentance is followed by God's mercy. As you decide today to stop all ungodly ways of doing things, God's mercy will follow you. AMEN and AMEN.
