Several generations of kids grew up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and all the other chaming characters from Nintendo's most successful "Super Mario" series.
Actually, the bearded Italian plumber is the most famous video game character of all time.

It all started in 1981, and since then Mario and his friends have come a long way through gaming consoles and game boys.

Now, finally, Mario has arrived in the Smartphone age: The Smartphone Game Super Mario Run has just been released 1 hour ago.

His long, famous history has led to a massive hype around the game: similar to Pokemon Go which was released earlier this year, people are already going crazy over the game - and this is just the beginning.

Details about the game

The game has a very familiar look - Mario runs automatically, while you can make him jump and attack enemies, or collect coins. The ultimate goal is, of course, to rescue his Princess Peach from the evil Bowser.
It was very important for the developers to make the game playable with one hand, which Mario inventor Shigeru Miyamoto actually demonstrated by playing it and doing other things at the same time, for example eating a burger.
An active internet connection will be required to play the game - this has been the cause of many discussions and unhappy customers. The reason for that is that Nintendo wants to prevent pirating of the game.

The game itself is free - but the gameplay of the free version won't last very long.

Users will have to unlock the whole game with a one-time purchase of $9.99.
Once the full version is unlocked, the player has access to 3 different game modi:

• World Tour
  This is the classic story mode, in which you have to save Princess Peach in six different worlds

• Kingdom Builder
  A creative mode, where the player can use his coins to buy decorations or buildings, and eventually add bonus content or additional characters to the game.

• Toad Rally
  This is the game's multiplayer mode! You can compete against other players with the goal of collecting the most coins and achieving the highest score.

Predictions of Future Success

Experts are sure that Super Mario Run will become the next hype among smartphone users.
Sensor Tower predicted that the first month's gross revenue could be about $71 million.
They also assumed that Super Mario Run could be downloaded 50 million times during the first month, which is almost twice as much as Pokemon Go reached.
In its lifetime, experts even suggest that they game could hit 1 Billion downloads - twice as much as Pokemon Go currently has.
This could make it one of the most successful smartphone games of all time.
