Practice

in sketch •  6 years ago

Hello, this is one of my newest drawings, I didn't have too much time to draw on the past days, but I really wanted to draw a portrait, so I made this one just for fun and practice.

This time all the process was digital, from the sketch to the colors and I used my bamboo tablet and Krita. I mostly use the airbrush for the sketch and colors. I hope you like it!

This is the first rough sketch; it's very useful to do a quick drawing first, so you can get an idea of how much space you are going to use on the canvas or paper:

After that, you can start making corrections, fixing the anatomy and adding a few details!

The colors for this one were simple, since her skin tone and the background is the same

I just had to add some lights and a bit of shadows!

Nice work, you presented it very well, starting with approximation of the body parts and proportion, that is the most important to have it right from the beginning. Interesting how you build up the color layers and the reflection of light from skin perfectly done. You paid attention to the light source too, that is sometimes we do not see so obvious on photographs, but the artistic thinking will never let it unnoticed. All together beautiful composition, one of the favorite topics of artists is Human Body :)

Thank you very much for your comment. And you are right, it's one of my favorite topics too!

wow @madstalfos, what a sexy girl. I do hope I have the figure like her:p. This not easy to paint a figure and background which has the same color. And you did it. Just because of the dark background, the jean's color standout hehehehe.. Nice one.
Who is this sweet gorgeous little girl ?

Thank you so much for your comment! This is one of my favorite styles, starting with a base color and just adding lights and a bit of extra shadow; I really enjoy it :). The reference model is Nadia Wemboluan!

This really a great portrait, the light, shadow and color, it look like a photo.

Very nice sheen on that skin, and I also like the skin tone of this lady, very rich chocolate :).

Congratulations for your first curie vote and welcome to Steemit ^_^.

Thank you so much and I have to say that you have a very nice art style!

When I saw the first photo I thought WOW, what a body! I didn't realize that it was your painting :) It's a great work! I like the proportion of her body - it looks real, and also her face and skin color - so beautiful! Her hair like Mickey Mousse - STUNNING! :)

Thank you for sharing! You absolutely deserve your curie vote :)

Thank you!

omg...this girl is absolutely stunning! I looove that strong muscular body of hers. And wide hips cuz of squatts and strong healthy legs! No more barbies! How much time did it take you? To finish this work?

And you're absolutely right that practice makes perfect...just drill drill drill..till it's engrained in the system.

Thank you very much! And a muscular body is always perfect for lighting/shading studies :)

it's good for a lot of things ahaha :D

Howdy there madstalfos! Hey this is a wonderful piece, I'm surprised it is all digital because that makes it more amazing to me. Since the skin color and the background color is the same I don't know how you made the skin look so different than the background but it is, it's a beautiful portrait, I think it's amazing!
