Portrait of Two Women
I was commissioned to create a portrait of two daughters for a friend of mine’s wife. He sent me a couple photos of each, and I combined them into a single composition. Drawing and redrawing each face, I eventually composed this image.
Once that was completed, I scanned my pencil drawing and used it as a guide for the final art. In Illustrator I created a template of the drawing and then redrew everything on a higher layer. From the sketch I made additional changes, pulling elements apart more to accentuate the design. Finally, I gave it all a color palette and added flourishes to emphasize the eyes and other features.
The final product is a vector image that can be printed out at any size.
