- “I forgot to cancel my free trial subscription and got charged.” Yes, if you decide to sign up for a free trial and input your credit card information, that means you’re agreeing with further charges on your card after the trial ends. That’s how the system works. If for any reason you don’t want to continue your billing agreement, just cancel your subscription a few days before the trial ends to avoid any charges and disputes. You can do it in the payment settings. If you signed up via app read this article. The company is very clear on that.
- “I never had time to take any classes.” That’s totally understandable, considering how much stuff we all have going on in our lives. That’s why I recommend taking one of the time management classes that’re available on Skillshare platform right after you sign up. This will help you set some goals and priorities, clear some space in your schedule, avoid procrastination, and learn a new useful skill. I will talk about a class that I personally recommend below in the “How to Get Started The Right Way?” part of the article.
- “I needed to enter my credit card information but I didn’t feel secure about it.” Skillshare is a legit company that has an actual physical address and real employees. It has been in business for more than 7 years. Moreover, this is a usual practice, and most companies that offer free trials require credit card information. This process filters out people that want to create multiple accounts using fake e-mail addresses.
- ”There were no classes I was interested in.” I found classes in almost every niche I could think of. And, of course, you can browse classes before signing up for a trial to make sure that there are classes you are interested in taking. You will be able to watch an introduction of every class and read reviews from people who have already taken it.
- “The company did not remind me of billing.” That’s not a standard practice to notify users when their trial is over. If you’re signing up and you decide to cancel your subscription later, you need to make sure you won’t forget to do that before the trial ends.
- “There is no way to see if a course is outdated.” There is a way now. You can browse and filter classes by date of creation. You can also sort them by “popular”, “newest” or “trending”. That’s very important for technical niches where the content freshness plays a crucial role.
- You get an unlimited access to all classes for a whole month for the price of a couple cups of coffee.
- You get to study with students like yourself and, of course, ask your teacher questions.
- All the classes are available to you 24/7, and finding the right class is very easy.
- You can use the search bar to find classes that you want to take.
- You can save classes to your dashboard.- You can follow teachers you like. You can also follow topics and subtopics you’re interested in and get the “newest” and “popular” classes in your recommendations.
- You can filter the results by “freshness” (1 week, 1 month, 6 months) and also by “trending” and “popularity”.
- You can read reviews about the class you’re taking and write a review afterwards yourself.
- You can see all the classes you took in the past in Members Area.At this point, Premium Skillshare members area has more than 19,000 lessons in different categories, including:
Is Skillshare Worth It In 2018?
Yes, it absolutely is. I think that online learning is the future of education, and Skillshare is the best platform on the Internet to learn new skills. It’s also one of the most affordable ones.
For instance, Internet marketing and photo and video editing courses are becoming more popular and more expensive every day. People spend hundreds of dollars just to learn how to edit photos on Instagram. But with Skillshare, you can learn anything for only $10 per month. By spending just 30 minutes a day you’re becoming more skilled, therefore, you can help more people and make more money. Knowledge is power, it gives you freedom.Every Skillshare plan comes with a free trial. Try it for yourself. - Read reviews before taking any class. Make sure that the class is up to date.
- Complete all the assignments and put knowledge into practice.
- If you don’t know how to apply the things you’ve learned and make money, try setting up a gig on Fiverr.
- The secret is to enjoy what you’re doing. Don’t do anything just because you think it’s prestigious or can make you a lot of money. Do what you love, and the money will follow.

What Is Skillshare?
Skillshare is an online platform with an active community that has more than 19,000 thousands of classes including thousands of free high-quality courses. It’s a legit company that has been on the market since 2010. Skillshare is rapidly growing and has become one of the most affordable online education platforms with top quality classes and celebrity teachers, like Aaron Draplin, Justin Bridges, Soledad O’Brien, Jeff Staple, Jeff Sauer, Rand Fishkin, and many more.
The idea behind Skillshare is to teach its members thousands of new useful skills that can be implemented in real life: you can learn photo and video editing, foreign languages, or take a tea brewing class, - all from the comfort of your home! Skillshare also offers various classes that can help improve creative, marketing or management parts of your business, or even start a new business in almost any niche, both online and offline. It’s a place where you can learn, teach and get inspired to achieve your wildest dreams. At the end of this review I will show you how to transform your life - financial and personal - in less than a month by taking Skillshare classes for 1 hour a day.
Whom Is Skillshare Good For?
If you’re feeling that there are areas in your life you could grow in (relationship, health, business), or if you simply want to learn something new, then Skillshare is the right fit for you. It’s also a great service for those who want to grow professionally and develop their business skills; for those who want to become freelancers but don’t know how; and pretty much for anyone who wants to learn new skills - from cooking and meditation to story writing and SEO. Skillshare doesn’t only focus on helping people make more money (although if you want to use it just for business, that’s fine, too), but rather helps people improve all aspects of their lives.
Whom Is Skillshare Not Good For?
If you think you’re the smartest person on Earth and know it all, then Skillshare may not be the best fit for you. Also, it won’t work for people who don’t want to learn anything new, connect with extraordinary teachers, and who are simply not ready to go on an exciting journey of becoming a skilled writer, or a talented chef, or an amazing storyteller (you name it).
Skillshare Cost And Pricing
So how much is Skillshare subscription? It must cost a fortune considering how awesome it is. Well, not really, it’s actually super affordable. There are few options you can choose from:1. Become a free member. You can browse and take more than a thousand courses at absolutely no cost. Sometimes you can even find a “Free access links for premium content” on a teacher’s website or social media account when the teachers are promoting their classes.
2. Pay monthly. It only cost $12 per month and you get unlimited access to all the courses.
3. Pay annually. Just $8 per month, or $96 per year. This would save you 33% per year. And again, you get access to all Skillshare classes.Even if you choose to pay monthly (the most expensive option), it will cost you $12 per month, which is around $0.4 per day. And keep in mind, that it’s not an expense, but rather an investment in yourself.
I’ve heard people saying that something that cost $10 a month can’t be good, and that they’d prefer to take classes that cost $1000 because they think that higher price equals good quality. But that’s not the case here. And I although I believe that Skillshare should cost at least $100-$200 per month, I’m glad that this service is affordable and so many people can use it, become skillful and knowledgeable, and change their lives for the better. If you’re broke and have no money at the moment but still want to use Skillshare, you can apply for a scholarship https://www.skillshare.com/scholarships and get 50–100% off. Please read the terms of service before you apply to avoid wasting time and procrastination. You can also get a free 2-month trial, I will talk more about it later and post a link below.
Skillshare Deceptive Free Trial “Scam”
Skillshare is offering a 2-month free trial for new members. That’s a very generous offer, however, many people do not realize that if for some reason they don’t like the service, they need to cancel their subscription before 2 months end to avoid any charges. When you sign up for a free trial, you need to choose whether you would like to be “billed annually” or “billed monthly”. But again, if you cancel your subscription before a certain date, you won’t be charged anything.
Skillshare Complains: What People Don’t Like About Skillshare
Before writing this review, I decided to take a look and see what kind of feedback Skillshare is getting. I reviewed most of Skillshare complains and here I listed them and provided a possible solution so that new members would avoid having the same issues:
Learning On Skillshare Vs. Learning On Free Platforms Like YouTube
Some Skillshare reviews also mentioned that you can learn the same stuff on YouTube or any other free platform. And although I agree with this statement to some extent, I still think there are a lot of differences. Here are some of them:
1. The quality of Skillshare courses is a lot better. The classes have a certain structure and are very well-organized. Unlike YouTube, on Skillshare you don’t get constantly distracted by ads and other videos.
2. Because YouTube is free you’re not really committed to learning. On Skillshare you pay for classes, and even though it’s only $12 per month, it still motivates you to take action and learn.
3. During the class, you’re given tasks to complete (sort of homework). That’s one of the most crucial components of learning. New neurological patterns are created when we combine theory with practice and repeat it a certain number of times (it becomes a habit). So it is important to do some practical exercises rather that just memorizing things. When I first found out about Skillshare I got very excited about it. I thought of all the things I could learn and how much impact it would have on my life. It’s like an RPG game, where you (and by “you” I mean your character in a game, of course) learn new skills and then become stronger, get new cool artifacts, and the game itself gets more exciting. In real life same principles apply. You learn new skills, apply them, then your financial situation improves, and you get yourself any “artifacts” you want - electronics, cars, houses. You also learn how to improve personal relationships and enjoy your life even more.
Review Of Skillshare Free Classes
As I’ve mentioned before, you can take some classes on Skillshare for free. At this point, there are more than 1000 free classes out there. You would still need to create an account for that. And sometimes you can even take premium classes for free, because there are teachers who offer “Free access links for premium content”. How can you find those free premium classes?
- You can check a teacher’s website or a social media account and see if they have any promotion at that moment.- You can ask a teacher directly on Skillshare if he has any premium content classes coming up.Free classes can be a good option. I believe that it’s a great way to try Skillshare, but by only taking free classes you’re limiting yourself. Also keep in mind, that premium plan comes with a 1-month free trial. If you want to get a 2-month free trial continue reading this review. You can actually learn a lot in 60 days even if you spend just one hour a day on classes. If Skillshare is a way for you to learn how to make more money, I’m sure you will benefit a lot from it. And if you apply the skills that you learn in classes, you will able to make at least $100 by the end of 60 or even 30 days.
Review Of Skillshare Premium
In my opinion, Skillshare premium account is worth $100–$200 per month. In the past, I took several $2000–3000/year courses from well-known entrepreneurs that very not nearly as good as the classes I found on Skillshare. Over the years, I’ve learned that most “gurus” on the Internet don’t teach any unique information, they just know how to sell their classes for a lot of money. So now I prefer not to waste my money and whenever I want to learn something new, I just go online and log into my Skillshare account. So what makes Skillshare Premium so awesome?
