Today we find ourselves with a question that you have probably already asked yourself in front of the names of your creams: should I choose moisturizer or super nourishing cream?
This question is legitimate and it is important to choose according to the need of your skin, in which case epidermal reactions can be the opposite of the expected result.
So, hydrate or feed?
My characters, who obviously didn't invent hot water according to their dubious facial expressions, are still clues as to the answer to this great question.
Hydration
Every skin needs hydration. Yes, all skin types! Even oily skin: excess sebum does not imply good water reserves (and this is a common mistake that accentuates acne). You must bring water to your skin on a daily basis, and especially in the morning, to prepare yourself for the vagaries of the day, whether outdoors or more urban.
If you lightly pinch your cheeks and small wrinkles appear, your skin lacks water, you need to find a good moisturizer.
The signs of dehydrated skin are as follows:
- When you feel a feeling of discomfort
- When the skin tightens (often after showering, in reaction to limestone, or after an outing confronting us with wind, or pollution)
- When it is reactive
What are the natural ingredients with moisturizing properties?
- Aloe vera
- The cucumber
- The yogurt
- The honey
- Certain vegetable oils (jojoba, apricot...)
Nutrition
Not all skins need to be nourished. Dry skin does not form a protective lipid barrier that retains sebum in the skin. It is therefore necessary to provide lipids to this skin to allow it to recover its comfort.
The best way to do this is to apply a serum or vegetable oil under your moisturizer, and take advantage of the night to apply an oil that will replicate your skin during sleep.
The signs of undernourished skin are as follows:
- Skin dryness
- Scaling peeling (peel skin)
- Skin roughness ("crocodile skin")
What are the natural ingredients with nourishing properties?
- Vegetable butters (Shea butter)
- Vegetable oils (e. g. rose musk, coconut)
- Vegetable waxes that will retain lipids by forming a protective barrier
I hope I have informed you, do not hesitate to ask your questions and comments.
